Hi all I've been offered this Seamaster 166.0213.1 running perfectly I know nothing about this model can anyone help with info and age please....
Considering that you already have the reference and movement serial number I'm curious what your own research has dug up regarding info and age?
Pretty much all Omega are reliable and this mid 1980s styled watch looks to be in good condition.
Not as popular at present as most of the earlier models but very much of its time and likely to be reliable and, with sensible use (don’t wear it in the shower) for another forty years, particularly since it’s stainless steel.
It depends on i) whether or not you like it and ii) how much you’re willing to pay.
It’s probably a good idea to look up this model in the 'sold' section on eBay but remember the better the condition and service history (if any) the higher the value.
The downside of this model with its integrated bracelet is that you're essentially married to using that bracelet, and it's my understanding that Omega has discontinued the integrated bracelets from this era. I don't know what style of clasp this has, but if you can fit a bracelet clasp extender to the clasp, you may be able to get a little bit more length out of the band. If not, you're in for a big challenge that may make this piece more trouble than it's worth.
I've been warmed against the earliest models in the 1000-series movements, but understand the reliability was improved by the 1020, so this movement shouldn't put you off this watch.
Problem solved
