Hello friends, I present to you my Railmaster Trilogy.
Is it better with the barrel or with the strap?

I go with the strap, to shiny on the bracelet ( barrel )

I think the vintage-style lume lends itself to the leather strap, but nothing beats a well-constructed bracelet for everyday wear.

The great news is you don’t have to choose 😀

Love my '57 Railie but it never came alive to me until I put an Uncle Seiko flat link on it (the non-tapered, chonky, enormo-clasp OEM bracelet bothered me deeply)...

Mine lives on a leather strap from Delugs. I find the original bracelet really comfortable, but the clasp is a bit big. Didn't know Uncle Seiko did a version for this- guess I'l be headed there next.

I'm not the OP but to answer- nothing is wrong with it. I guess its just a personal opinion. I think the bracelet is really comfortable. But , I think the clasp is a wee bit bulky in comparison. To compare, the bracelet on my new Speedy 57 is just as comfy but, relatively, the clasp is slightly smaller. But, hey, the Railmaster looks so damn good on a variety of straps that it doesn't really matter. Funny enough, my Railmaster is back on the bracelet at the moment . We're lucky to have options.

What’s wrong with the original clasp? I still don’t get it…

It's bulky and due to no taper of the bracelet I also prefer the US flatlink on my Seamaster Trilogy.

Exactly the reasons why I’m loving it but to each his own.

It's a fine bracelet and clasp... but for me personally I like a tapered bracelet and a less chonky/thicc clasp.

Was looking at this model the other day at the OB. A very nice watch but I would also prefer it on a tapered bracelet, wasnt aware there are aftermarket options at the time. Might have to pop in to the OB to take a closer look.

It was one of the reasons I moved my railmaster on. Now if I’d kept it, I could have used the 321 bracelet. That would be perfection.

The trilogy bracelets were great…

… until the Apollo XI 50th came out. And then the 321. Bracelet perfection on both.

I personally think the strap looks great, giving it some contrast to the very shiny rest (steel bezel steel everything).

Guys, the Railmaster is such a fine and graceful watch, what more do you want? That it makes itself invisible on the wrist? To taper a 19mm bracelet is only reasonable with ladies watches. 19/18 would still be okay, but everything else is nonsense. Do you want to have tapered NATO straps next?

Well, it is as always a matter of personal taste, but I will never understand. In my world there would be no tapered bracelets at all. If only because it is completely impractical and disfunctional. The narrower the bracelet, the less stability it offers on the arm.

Couldn't disagree more but you do you.
Glad you're digging the OEM.

But apart from the fact that there are different views for aesthetic reasons, the fact remains that narrower bracelets give less support on the wrist. Or do you disagree there as well?
