Hello. I have the above watch and would like to sell. It was bought around 1978 by my husband for his Dad. It looks like Dad did not like it much as he never worn it. Although, he did manage to misplace the box and papers.....
So unworn, still has the plastic sticky on the face. It is needing a battery, of course, and at the present time we are not able to get to an Omega Dealer, due to lockdown.
I have tried to find the model number, but just come up with the Automictic version.
Any info at all would be fabulous.

Is the Omega automatic, or quartz. You have me confused. In order to be eligible to offer the watch for sale on the Omega Message Board, you will need to have 200 posts. Post a picture of the watch, and you might luck out and get a private message from a potential buyer.

It looks to me that @Mummy P 's 2nd post was a spelling correction rather that saying that the watch is not quartz.

We really need photos, which can be uploaded to this forum and stored at no cost. If the original battery is still inside there may very well be a lot of corrosion from leakage of electrolyte. First action is to get the back off the watch, look for corrosion and photograph the movement an the inside of the back. Then, along with an idea of your location, we'd be able to advise further. A decent watchmaker is preferable to a battery installation kiosk for this.

Thank you.
The watch is Quartz, not automatic....I was correcting the spelling...so def Quartz.
I will try and get the back taken off. Most shops are still closed here in Scotland, due to ongoing lockdown.
Thanks again.

Tell me, my 1970s quartz Seamaster needs a new battery and I can't get one fitted 🙁

A warning: this era of Omegas is very far from the most popular or valuable. Do not spend much money on it, and particularly do not send it to Omega, a service by them will cost you twice what it's worth on the open market. My Seamaster went to Switzerland for a service I can only justify on sentimental grounds.
