    Hi Folks

May I request some advice please? I'm on the verge of purchasing one of these as I absolutely adore them.

    The question is:
Is there any difference between a 2001watch & a 2005 model (when they were discontinued?) i.e were there any updates to the movement etc? I am only asking about the quartz model btw.

The price between the two years is varying between £750 -1250!

The provenance of both watches is immaculate i.e documented service history from Omega & original receipts / box & papers etc.

All advice more than gratefully received.

    Thankyou :)

As far as I know its the same movement, only difference in cost should be related to condition, not age. Its a nice piece though, you'll enjoy it a lot.

As much as people tend to prefer the autos, as a rock solid piece you can safely beat to hell the 2262.50 is seriously strong, the type of watch you could sail or surf with without fear.

With the mechanical watches there was quite a bit of change. Not so with the quartz watches - and even if there was any change it wouldn't amount to much of a difference anyway since it's still a battery operated quartz caliber. Go for it!

I have a 2262.50. I really like it. I also have a 2264.50 which is my everyday. Although I really don't need the 62, I can't bring myself to get rid of it. And although I might detect a bit of derision for the quartz, for me it is the only way to go!

Thankyou very much for all your replies.
I don't wear a watch during the day due to the nature of my work so I guess Quartz is the way to go for me as i won't need to re-set it every couple of days.

Well I went & bought the little critter. I am now the extremely proud owner of my first ever Omega watch - a 2001 Seamaster Professional 2262.50 in immaculate condition.

Tell you what - I'll congratulate you if you post pictures. The internet rule is "no pictures = didn't happen". ;)

Nice, is it the blue dial or black ?. As pricing goes the black dial Seamaster does tend to sell for slightly more than the blue.

Or one of those vegetarian pizzas. That's like non-alcoholic beer - what's the point?
