Omega Seamaster model?

I thought this might be a good forum to find out more about my Omega Seamaster that I recently inherited from my father. It was purchased sometime between 1955-1965 when he received his first big promotion at work. Anyone able to help identify the actual model and year? Thanks in advance.

It's a great early Seamaster chronograph with a caliber 321 movement from the late 50s or early 60s as you indicated. It is gold or gold-capped I assume. A photo from the back would help determine that. The serial number on the movement will provide a more accurate estimate of the manufacturing date. Wonderful heirloom. You will get the most information if you have someone open the watch (it should be a screw-in caseback) and post photos of the movement and the inside of the case-back, clearly showing all numbers (serial number and reference number).

As a guess, the reference number may be KO 2907, but that's really just a guess (see below) and there may be other similar references. In any case, the reference number will be clearly indicated inside the caseback.

I concur it might be a KO 2907.

At first glance the crown looks strange and the chrono second hand doesn't look matching. I don't think the pushers are original.

Thank you for your reply. I shall see if I can a watch smith to remove the back for a photo. The outside case is worn down to the point that nothing is legible.

Wow. A 321 Seamaster.

Can this be called a moonwatch because it has the cal. 321 movement?

I think the early Seamaster chronographs are often undervalued. Beautiful watches, but they didn't make it to the moon, because it lacks of liquid water there. 😁

Arent there seas on the moon? Like the sea of tranquility?

And for speed, i have not heard of a fast lunar rover.

Isnt there another brand that claims a moonwatch?

But to get on-topic, this is a nice specimen of a Chronograph seamaster. Curious if at that time the chronograph functions can be performed underwater.
