·Good Afternoon OF. My Father bought this watch new and wore it all through my childhood and into adulthood. I remember it clearly when I was young being amazed when he told me about how it winds itself. I used to love it when he made the alarm go off.
I really didn't think about it all that much as I grew as I was busy doing my own thing and I was never really a watch guy. He died in 2005 and towards the end had a few cheap digital watches like G-Shocks etc, and again I didn't really think about it all that much. My mum gave me some of his watches after his passing and I assumed this was one of them.
I've looked for it in old boxes and places where I thought it might be on and off over the years just for sentimental reasons but with no great effort, however last week my mum sends me a message saying she found dads old watch in a box and would i like it. Knowing nothing about watches I say yes of course. Immediately I fell in love with it, a connection to my dad. The crown grinds a bit but it ticks away after a few turns. I wear it for a week and it's running great just self winding. Lost about half a minute in that time.
My brother in law is a watch guy. Loves Omega watches. Has a big collection. Has a look at it and polishes the glass. Puts it on his timegraph and says its in good shape. He tells me it's a classic. Takes it in to his trusted Omega approved shop for a service. Really looking forward to getting it back. I really love this watch.
Going to be my daily wearer in honour of my Father. I'm planning to pass this down to one of my boys.

Thanks for reading if you got this far. Happy to be a part of a community that loves so many beautiful watches.
