Hi everybody. I just got Omega Seamaster GMT 2534.50.00 50th anv. watch. Can not figure out how GMT function works. Also, is there any review how good this watch is, and history behind? Can you please help? Thank you.

Thank you. Any idea on the story behind "50th anniversary"?

The watch was released in 1998 to commemorate 50 years of the Seamaster (1948-1998)

I recently purchased a 2534.50 Seamaster and cannot find any setting or owner instructions online. The Omega site guide does not list calibre 1128, nor provide the page listed above. Ideas welcome. Happy holidays and new year to you. Yes, I’m a newbie and the Omega was my grail. Thanks!

This thread is 8 years old so don't expect much of a snappy response! Oh and Merry Christmas by the way.

You set an 1128 more or less the same as an Omega 1120 or ETA 2892 since that is what it actually is. Rocket science it is not. Pull to position 1 to set the hour, pull to pos 2 to set the mins and hours or hack. It does make setting the date a pain as you have to wind the hour around for ages.

Thank you. I get all you describe and it isn’t even basic chemistry vs. rocket science- it is aligning the hour hand and gmt hand. I did find an 1128 manual on line. Thanks for your reply and enjoy the holiday.

Thank you for the manual ref. I found one also. Mine is a slow date changer as described, which bothers me not. It is aligning the hour and gmt hands that was the enigma. Happy holidays - I appreciated both you and another writer replying today.

Im not sure exactly what you mean. The GMT hour hand does a full revolution every 24hrs, not 12 hrs, so while it will align, only at certain times in any 24hr period. The GMT hand should however hit an dial hour marker every 2hrs, and align with the bezel numbers and markers at the top of each hour.

Hello everyone, and thank you all for your assistance. I followed the instructions in those 1128 instructions you so graciously sent, and - yes, Virginia, there is an Omega Claus. I now have my Seamaster hands all pointing at the correct places and a printed - yes , I still hold paper in hand - page now settled in the paper file for future ref.
Yes, I’ve the digits stored also. Have I learned anything? I have, that you are helpful in sharing what you know or leading me to it, that you took time to assist someone you don’t know, and that we are, were, or will be again Omega owners. Again, my thanks. A good new year to each of you.
