Just picked up this lovely GMT from 1998. Stunning watch in original condition, and keeping wonderful time. This ones a keeper! Does anyone else have one? 90466F35-551F-4646-B11D-29A462AC629E.jpeg

I had one a while back. I should have never flipped it. Congrats on your new aquisition. Love Seamasters without the silly HEV

While I don't know the production year of mine, it does have the "50th Anniversary" markings on the case back and special clasp. It has served me well!

(I'm sorry for the lack of specifics and missing picture, the watch is currently in storage.)

Have one but this is the later 2234.50 Version of it. Yours could be a 2534.50.

Love it really, stunning watch and often on the wrist

The difference in the second PIC digit is purely down to which bracelet type it has, the later 2234.50 has the Speedy Type, the earlier 2534.50 has the original Bond fit, otherwise they are AFAIK identical. Thus as you say the OP watch is a 2534.50. It is like the difference between 2054.50 and 2254.50. Take it off the bracelet like you have there and you have an indeterminate watch, Schrodinger's watch almost, existing in both states and neither at the same time!

    Padders,
That's what I've learned about that, too. For me, the 2534 is the more classy of both and higher appreciated. So I ripped off the bracelet from mine and did it with a X33 strap.:)

Thanks for that, I didn’t realise there was difference in the watch number, dependant on the strap. You live and learn!

The paperwork dates the watch to 1998.

Yeah, that's the only difference and the newer bracelet is just a speedy one and not with a beautiful golden Omega mark on the clasp like yours. Mine is from 2003.

They were also available on a double ridged rubber strap with (rather large) butterfly deployant clasp.
I don't know the model number on that one.

really like the GMT version. I have a 2254.50 and a moon watch. I think this one will complete the circle ...

My go to travel watch when flying across Atlantic. Classic and very undervalued imho.

The 2524.50 (Bond bracelet) is a stunner. Love it. It’s up there with the 2531.80 as the best Seamaster for me. That bracelet is amazing on the wrist...super comfortable.
