Can you self check if it has been magnetized?

My crystal ball tells me you should be talking to Omega, not us.

Always a good idea to have a basic demagnetizer. I would start there.

If it hasn't been knocked against something or dropped, I would say it has been magnetised.
But it's simply best to take it to Omega and if it's simply been magnetised they may do it quite quickly.
Alternately you could take it to a trustworthy watchmaker near you and for a small fee they will be able to demagnetise it for you and then you'll know for sure afterward.

What exact reference? Not sure how a Master Co-Axial or Co-Axial Master could be magnetized. I know some of the early co-axials weren't amagnetic though...

This! What reference! Hard to think of anything that might be encountered in everyday life that would magnetize a modern Master Omega movement. I can't remember but doesn't 15,000 Gauss resistance basically mean it would need to be in an MRI machine or more?

MRI machine, definitely could. Very near a transformer core. Outside of stellar space, research facilities, not much else normally accessible in everyday life.

where is the OP? I'm guessing it must be an older coaxial if it came up for service already, and apparently more than once ('regularly'). But if that's the case, why not stop by at the dealer or boutique again for a quick check and run through the demagnetizer, instead of agonizing over an inaccurate watch?

Maybe he realized he was comparing it against a clock that was running 3 minutes slow per day....😀

I also have had this kind of issue, so I sold my Speedmaster and with the revenue I bought a ZENITH EL PRIMERO CHRONOMASTER and I must say you can win only by purchasing a Zenith

Congratulations! I'm super glad that you found something that will make you happy and I hope that you don't have any of the issues that are currently being reported with the current el primero.

Have you found a good Zenith forum yet?
