Omega seamaster evaluation

I recently acquired this Omega Seamaster which belonged to my father. I'd like to have it serviced and the crystal replaced. I saw the same watch on Chrono24 selling for €850. Do you think it's worth such a service? It's running well after being unused for about twenty years. Thank you.

First thought is that 850 is a bit high. Is it worth a service? Financially; no. Sentimentally yes, I would love to have my father's Omega.

The experts will be along shortly with a more comprehensive answer.

If you plan to wear it, I think that it's absolutely worth being serviced. If that was my father's watch, I'd have it serviced and wear it every day. If you share where you live generally, people can recommend businesses that have experience with vintage Omega watches.

Your photo is unfortunately focused on the background instead of the watch, so we can't judge the condition. But from what I can see, the watch appears to be legit and original, so it's going to be a great heirloom. You can't appraise the value of a watch using asking prices on C24, and I'd say that asking price is probably about 20% over fair market value. However, that's not relevant for you, since you're not planning to sell it.

Looks like late 50s early 60s watch maybe 14700 with long lugs. Focused photos of front back sides lugs will help as above.
Great heirloom definitely worth servicing IMO just movement service, crystal replace or polish, no case polish, don’t let them touch dial. Independent watchmaker with Omega parts account best option. If you share your area OF members will likely have recommendations

It could be a 14700 but the lugs look skinnier than mine especially in the rear shot. There is some variation on some models though it must be said so I guess it still could be.

Price on 24 is high. Band not original on yours, so unless signed. Doesn’t add any value to the watch. Service provided no parts required. Maybe €250
