Hi guys!

I hope you can help me!

I got a lovely Omega Seamaster deville with ”Meister” written on the dial. I know that ”Meister” was (still is?) a retailer for Omega watches during the 1960’s. What about nowdays, do they (retailers) still ”mark” the dials? And is ”Meister”on the dial as ”premium” as it is with Tiffany & Co?

Opinion is certainly divided on the question. Meister-branded Omega watches come up for sale quite a bit and don't seem to command any extra value. I bought a Türler-branded Constellation because I was a fan of Glycine Airman watches, in the history of which Türler plays an interesting part. I certainly didn't pay a premium for it. (I also didn't get the right size band.)

To my eyes, the Türler script and its placement is very nicely done; some other designs slap the jeweler's name in a jarring place that doesn't look as good. I have to say that the font Meister uses doesn't do much for me and doesn't sit well with the Omega aesthetic.

In general Sellers seem to think it deserves a premium, while the Buyers/ Collectors do not.
