Omega Seamaster Cermet / Tulip: bracelet corrosion?

Hi everybody,

I am on the hunt for a Gold Tulip (been on the hunt for a while actually) but as prices have risen quite substantially I want to be well informed before I would make purchase when the opportunity finally arrives.

Even though I spot very few Tulips in the wild (this applies to both the Black and Gold version) the ones that I do find often have some kind of metal corrosion on the back of the bracelet links. See attached photos for reference.

i haven’t actually seen this in the flesh but I am very curious what this is and what could be causing it in the first place. I’m guessing it’s not fixable as someone would probably have done so on the watches I’ve used as examples.

Could it have something to do with the Cermet plates that are attached on the front end of the links? Highly unlikely in my mind!

Any ideas?

Good luck ! I've been looking for a Lady's GT for years ... but it is the one that was stolen out of our house some years ago. My wife keeps hoping it will turn up.
