I would kindly ask the experts on the forum for their opinion: assuming the dial is replaced with a correct one for the model, the crown is replaced with an original Omega crown, and an Omega strap is fitted, could the watch then be considered fully original from a collector’s standpoint?

Also, in your view, would it be worth doing this, or would it be better to keep the watch in its current condition, especially considering its historical and sentimental value?

Thank you in advance for your valuable advice.
It will never be original. IMO, the best you could say would be "restored with period-correct parts."

This is not a question anyone can answer for you. To be brutally honest, it's a perfectly fine vintage Seamaster, a good quality watch. But it's not a particularly uncommon or "important" watch from a collectible perspective. So I don't think there's any real need to restore it unless that's what you really want to do. It will always be worth more to you and your family than to anyone else, so I doubt that any of us would put in the time, energy, and money to restore it.

My feeling is that this is your watch, and you should do whatever will give you the most joy, don't worry about what other people think, or about semantics.

This isn't a rare watch, but in my opinion, one of the most beautiful Seamaster models. When you start looking, you'll find that there aren't many for sale, and they're not cheap. I'd look for a donor with the original dial and crown.
