·Hi all!
This is my first post so please excuse any ignorance. I’ve just purchased an Omega Seamaster Cal 503 with a blue dial.
It’s in working order, but I’m going to be using it to get into the hobby of watch repair.
First, I’ll simply be replacing the band and spring bars. Soon I’ll throw it onto a timegrapher to see how it’s doing. (So far it seems to be losing around 12 seconds a day.)
I’ve included some photos and would love some help identifying the year, your thoughts on if the dial is repainted, and thoughts about whether or not there are missing gaskets on the case. I see no gasket on the back, and no gasket where the crown joins the case.
