Hey folks,

you might have seen this one before - in a sales ad in this very forum:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/1951-st-steel-omega-seamaster-bumper-w-breguet-numerals.122313/

So, why do you sell it again, is there something wrong with it?

Absolutely not. The seller and I stayed in touch, though, and he did offer me another 50s Seamaster. While I do like those Breguet numerals, I also know that when I have to pick one of the two, I'd always chose the other one. It won't get any better by spending it's life in my watch drawer, so I'll pass it on.

The Watch

Omega Seamaster
Reference: 2577
Movement: cal. 351 bumper automatic
Serial: 12367485
Year: 1951
Case: 34,5mm stainless steel
Dial: beige patina, gold breguet numerals
Price: 440€

Condition (c&p'ed from the original ad)

Dial:
The original, non-refinished dial features desirable gold 3/6/9/12 breguet numerals. The dial has developed a fairly even patina however is slightly darker near the center, has some marks around the edge, and "Omega" and "Automatic" text is a bit faded, presumably from being cleaned. Also, the lume plots appear to have been filled in (it's possible it's just darkened lume but seems too consistently dark and too intact to me - I haven't checked with a blacklight). "Swiss" text is present below the 6 marker as expected.

Case: Original 34.5mm 2577-8 reference stainless steel case appears to be unpolished and is in nice condition with light scratches and wear but nothing significant.

Crown: Original clover crown is in nice condition.

Crystal: Crystal is signed (Omega logo etched at center) and has some scratches that should buff out.

Movement: Original 351 caliber bumper automatic movement winds and sets fine but was running a couple minutes fast last I timed it. Given this and that service history is unknown, a service is recommended prior to regular use. Serial number dates the watch to 1951.
(Added note from me: While I haven't timed it, I'd like to mention that it starts with the first movement)

Strap: I have a few to chose from, light brown/dark brown/black/blue/green... we'll figure something out.

I hear you're >2m/6"9 tall and have a beard. That doesn't seem trustworthy!

True. But I do have some positive references here:

I’m also happy to provide multiple positive feedback on another watch forum, as well as a verification through my eBay-account that has been standing for 18 years, with >1800 reviews, 100% positive. Please do ask.

[commercial break]

Lovely watch and all, but I want something slightly larger and with a bit more bling!

I get that. Might this be something for you? 😉

Payment, Shipping & Returns

Payment is accepted via PayPal, bank transfer, Transferwise or cash in person. A coffee would be included in a personal transaction. 😀

The watch is located in Germany, insured shipping (500€ of insurance value, higher is of course available upon request) is usually:

6€ within Germany
16€ within Europe
55€ to most parts of the non-European world

Happy to ship to wherever, get in touch and I'm sure we'll be able to figure out the details.

No returns unless grossly misrepresented.

The Price

I'll be completely transparent here, I paid:

370€ for the watch including shipping
70€ for import duties

Which brings the total to 440€

If there are any questions, please do reach out! Also, I highly recommend the video in the initial ad (link at the top of this post), as depicts the watch realistically in natural light.
