Omega Seamaster Bracelet weird Links? 2254.50

Hey all, I'm considering buying this Omega 2254.50 Peter Blake Seamaster. Can someone tell me why there are etched circles on the side of the links of this 1610/930 bracelet? There are no holes, just what looks like etched circles, and no holes on the other side of those particular links. I think the bracelet is overall pretty good, though might be missing some links? Appreciate your help!

The etched circles are visible because the stainless steel has been worn/ polished away. The circle marks essentially are where a steel coating has been applied to cover the manufacturing/ assembly process of the bracelet, where the links have been connected to each other and the holes subsequently filled and concealed. Hope this makes sense!

Ok yes makes sense thanks for fast response! Is this something you would see on a new one, or does it mean the former owner over polished the sides of the links?

Those circles are definitely not visible on a new bracelet. To me it’s an indication that someone has refinished the bracelet with sand paper or an equivalent and has removed some of the material from the side of the links.

Yikes, not good. Holding the bracelet from the side it looks pretty straight indicating it must not have been worn too much right? Why they would sand it down so much is weird

I learn something new everyday here on OF, thanks @paddymoran .

To the OP does the bracelet come with extra links? I have one and a half more links in my 2254 bracelet and i have slim wrist, about 16 cm if I remember correctly.

That’s all the links it’s comes with, though I’ll probably remove a link or link and a half when I size it. It would fit a 18-19cm, I’m about 16.8cm

I don’t think it necessarily indicates the bracelet has been heavily refinished. To me it’s just as likely to be a result of natural wear on the inside of the links, resulting from normal movement, rotation and flexing of the bracelet links

Thanks David, doesn’t the bracelet look pretty level for a lot of natural wear to be the causing factor?

Yeah the bracelet looks ok to me. I’m not saying it’s excessive wear, just natural wear you’d expect.
In my experience these Omega bracelets from the 2000’s hood up better and are less prone to wear and stretch than their Rolex counterparts which are extremely susceptible to wear on at the edges of the links.

That bracelet is tiny. It is more normal for typical man sized wrist of 7" or bigger to see at least 3 full size removable links. That seems to have only 2.5 meaning it is sized for a woman or child. It is also sized in a lop sided way meaning the clasp wont sit nicely under the wrist but will climb up one side of the other.
