Could be a 501. Here's a photo of one of mine.

😉

I see what you did there, but in case Marco1962 didn’t: Post a better (and larger picture) if you expect any help, Marco1962. Omegaforums makes posting pictures very easy, so there really is no excuse for not doing it.

Not that we are likely hear from him again.

Sorry, I thought that the forum was about lovers of beautiful watches and not a forum for computer appreciations ... everyone has their own trip ...

No problem, I'm still here ...😉😀

Marco, please..... Why is it so complicated to give us your data ? It has been said a million time : all information is inside your case back. Marco: Inside your case back ! Next stop: your local watchmaker opens the back. Or you buy a good opening tool yourself. And then : Voila`. We can tell you everything you want to know. Everything else is a guessing game.

We get a lot of inquires of this type, and there are some really great experts on the forum. Please excuse the grumpy responses. It really is impossible to indentify the watch from one small picture. There was a lot of variability even within a given reference from this era. Welcome to the forum, and please don't give up easily.

OK I will do that as soon as I hopen my watch 😉

It's a gold (or gold capped) reference 2984 ca '58/'59 powered by a cal 501 movement. I don't know what happened to the dial - it should have hash marks. The crown and hands appear to be correct and probably original.

It might be an American version, in which case the reference number stamped on the inside of the caseback would be different.

Best,

Art

Interesting, is that the proper crown I wonder…

Refs 2984/2989 were the only Seamasters fitted with faceted crowns.

So did I when I saw that Art (@Dr No) had managed to identify it, and then I saw that Marco had updated his original photo.
😁

And @Marco1962, it wasn't about computer appreciations but your original picture was less than useful, I was trying to give you an example as a bit of a joke.

There's no substitute for pixels.

BTW, a very nice watch, my favourite lug style, wish I had one.

Movement caliber is 471 - that's unexpected. 11423180 would be the case number.

It would be worthwhile asking Omega for an extract.

Well the case number is 2984, surely the 11 number is the case serial?
