I’m offering for sale a pretty nice and fully original 1960s Seamaster. I bought it solely for the the (incorrect) bracelet it came with and the watch wasn’t running. A polish of the plexi quickly showed the dial to be in very good nick, the movement was also looking good, so I figured it deserved to get back running again and possibly make someone else here happy. It’s just been serviced yesterday, fresh from the watchmaker, and will of course be delivered with the service receipt (over ~270€).

The Watch

Omega Seamaster Automatic
Reference: 166.002
Movement: cal. 562
Serial: 22747210
Year: 1965
Case: ~34.5mm, stainless steel
Dial: original, white sunburst dial, not restored or tempered with in any way
Strap: New, basic leather strap from CNS Sweden and Omega clasp. Optional: Beads of Rice bracelet. I might also have other straps to choose from, just ask.

Condition

Very attractive, yet used, all-original watch.

Dial & Hands: Completely original white dial with sunburst finish in very good condition, all the text is fully there. Stainless steel indices without any corrosion and stick hands with tritium lume. The lume dots on the indices have aged nicely yellowy and are all there, the tritium in the hands is a slightly different tone, more greenish. Different aging of the lume on hands and the dial is far from unheard of, but I can’t rule out a relume.

Case: Original 34.5mm stainless steel case in used, but very sharp condition. There are a few tiny, superficial scratches everywhere, as is to be expected by a watch approaching its 60th birthday, but nothing significant, with one exception: The classic „idiot marks“ from failed opening attempts on the caseback, not visible on the wrist though. The hippocampus on it is sharp, though.

Crown: Original Omega crown, I believe the correct style with period-correct flat feet logo, as it should be.

Crystal: Original Omega plexi in great shape.

Movement: Original cal. 562 automatic with date function and semi-quickset. As mentioned above, it’s just been serviced and runs accordingly. The thin crown is a PITA to use regardless, much like the decagonal ones. 😉

Strap: As depicted, a red-brown new leather strap with vintage stitching, nothing special. I had an Omega clasp on it which I’ll leave there for the next owner. I might have alternative straps, should you wish, just ask. Note: I do also have a correct 7-row beads of rice bracelet for the watch, available at extra cost to be discussed.

Seller Reviews

Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:

Payment, Shipping & Returns

Payment is accepted via PayPal F&F, bank transfer, Transferwise or cash in person. Happy to meet you for a personal transaction, of course. Coffee’s on me.

I'm asking

620€

The watch is located in Germany. Tracked shipping is usually

6€ nationally
12-14€ within the EU/GB/Switzerland
~15-50€ to the rest of the world

Happy to ship wherever, get in touch and I'm sure we can figure something out.

No returns please, unless I misrepresented the watch in any way.

If there are any questions, please do reach out. And, as always, thanks @OF for the space!

Here are some pictures - feel free to ask for more. Do note these were taken before the service. Nothing’s changed since then, of course, the watch wasn’t polished or anything of the sort.

Great price. Great watch. Great seller.

Exactly my thoughts, but this man actually knows what he's talking about. So listen to him, folks.

I've bought a few watches from @MtV. He's indeed a great seller and gentleman.

Cheers for the kind words, gentlemen. This one is now sold and on its way to a hopefully happy new owner on another continent. 😀

Thanks @OF for the space!
