New member looking to learn from established experts and enthusiasts. I’m looking to buy Seamaster or Geneve 601 cal. Is there a difference other than cases etc? Also, the Geneve has rose gold looking hands and hour markers - original? (Face has no ‘Swiss made inscription).
Here’s hoping you’re able to advise....

Why did you choose the 601?

I've owned both a Seamaster Cosmic 601 and a Geneve Seamaster 601 and currently have a Geneve 601. No difference whatsoever with the movements.

They're one of my favorite hand wind movements and when one comes up locally I always grab it.

First thing you need to learn is to post some quality photos if you want some good advice.
The 601 is a great movement and as has already been said, it's the same whether in a Seamaster or Geneve. As far as I'm aware most dials from this period would have Swiss Made printed at the bottom. Sometimes it's not easy to see but it should be there.
