··Either he's dead or my watch has stoppedI have up for sale a great Omega Seamaster PloProf ref# 166.077 that has been built up to its former glory by LewiswatchCo. Many OF members who know his work will, I am sure, attest to his superlative commitment and dedication to being able to make a watch be the best it can be. I feel he has done exactly this for the PloProf offered here.
The case is a beautiful unmolested and unpolished rare "C" case from c.1973 with a serif insert bezel which is perhaps a little earlier - or as one authority speculated, possibly a transition case and bezel piece. Things are, as I have found out over the years, generally very fluid when it comes to Omega during this period. The watch is powered by the Omega 1002 movement.
Overhaul completed in March 2019 by LewiswatchCo.
The work done at full overhaul and build was as follows (itemised invoice will be supplied):
* Complete clean and correct oiling of all cal. movement 1002 parts
* New Omega mainspring
* New Omega male stem half
* NOS Omega 166.077 service dial coloured
* New Omega hands coloured to match dial plots
* All new Omega seals
* Omega Sapphire replacement crystal
* New Omega dial support
* Full new Omega crown assembly
* Omega crystal retaining nut
* Corrected date disc for crown left orientation
What we have here is a real iconic diver's watch with a working lume but with a vintage colouring. It's a watch that can serve as a collector's piece as well as a functioning tool watch. It has been pressure tested but as good advice, if you are going diving or swimming in a vintage watch, ALWAYS have it pressure tested again and regularly for your own (and the watches) safety.
The watch keeps great time as expected from an overhaul and there is nothing outstanding to disclose.

Dial: Deep blue with beautifully coloured luminous plot markers, Swiss Made.
Hands: coloured to match dial plots
