Hello OF,

My friend asked me to help with this one.
I have learned enough about modern Omega watches to know that they are being constantly faked and it is very easy to lose some serious money when buying outside of Omega AD.
This one is advertised as ref 212.30.41.61.01.001.
1. Does it look real to you?
2. Is it priced fairly at 2500 USD?
3. Anything specific to consider when buying Omega's Quartz OMEGA 1538?

Looks fine to me, I have the same in blue for 11 years with no problems, have changed the battery and seals twice in that period.

As for price, I'd say the asking price is unrealistic by at least $500.

I have one of those. It is one of my favorites. That looks legit. (I don't think there is a big counterfeit market for the quartz models.) I think the price is high by at least $500. I'd say tops I'd go is $1,800 and it would have to be a complete set - box, cards, links, etc. The 1538 is a time proven movement.

You're welcome. The images in your first post compared to that of the linked seller are night and day. The condition of the latter would be worth a couple of hundred more for me if I were considering this watch. JMO

I and my son both have one of these each - we paid a little more for our two but they were in mint condition - I would say if you like it and can afford the extra for the right condition watch, then go for it - I am so amazed at how this watch has risen to be my favorite watch over others worth considerably more in my collection...it has great proportions, so easy to read, low maintenance, and feels special on the wrist even more than my Sub or other watches...

It appears that the watch in the link was sold, so maybe that is the going market price for these watches.

My quartz Seamaster is one of those watches that falls into the "I wish I hadn't sold that one" category. I think it was 38mm, hard to find these days.

That category has grown large enough that I'm starting to think, maybe I should stop selling?

Agree on the sellers remorse, I have sold 4 watches this year that I now pine for...what seems like a good deal or reason one day, doesnt always seem so good in the long term when you are a collector...
