    Hello everybody

Couple of days ago I cleared my old mans safe deposit box and found an old Omega Seamaster watch.

After consulting various forums and going to the Omega retailer, I have to following informations ( see the attached pictures)

Rightnow im interested what I can do with the watch.
Possibility to restore it and how much it may value?

    Looking forward to your answers

    kindest regards

    Francois

You've just hit the jackpot - an ultra rare first generation 2913-1 with later replacement hands but original bezel. Would keep it as is. Value is well north of $10,000 USD. I think the watch is even harder to locate than a 2915-1 and we all know how hard that is to find.

    Wow!! What an incredible find.

I would strongly suggest not doing anything to the watch other than having it serviced by a professional who appreciates vintage watches.

As far as what to do with it, that answer is simple - sell it to me ;)

Original 7077 bracelet with single notch #6 end links. Quite impressive.

Woooooo, congrats!!! Like others said, don't do anything to the watch except maybe ask omega to service the movement. And try to find the box and papers of it. It is really in great shape!

As Im not familiar with the Omega world, this is something sought-after?

Which models did have this braclet and this kind of end links?

Unless you are wearing it don't even have the movement serviced - just keep it as is. And don't send it to omega to do anything!

they checked the rate precision and its +13 seconds which is quite impressiv for a watch that was lying around for twenty odd years.

would have been one of the greatest drivers ever to conquer formula 1, but what a bad destiny sadly...

Are you going to wear it? If so, movement needs service, but non of th outside parts should be touched.

Is there anything one can do to preserve such a beautiful bezel if wearing?

The bezel on your watch is very delicate, it is rare to be all intact, and almost impossible to replace. So as to this watch I would be reluctant to even wear it.. And I hate to say that about any watch.. But I think 10 grand is a low estimate and it would just not take much to hurt that bezel.

Didn't you make a comment last night that it was pretty slow around here? Since then we've gotten a first post with a find of a grandfathers 2998-1 and another one with a fathers 2913-1!! You should comment that it's slow around here more often.

In the condition that it's in right now, you could most likely sell that watch for around $15,000 at auction I would imagine.

Not sure about those value numbers as I haven't seen many trade but these days anything is possible.

    Hands should look like this.

Can more weigh in on the bezel issue? This one gets worn regularly without much thought.

Enjoy that watch. SM 300 CK 2913.2.jpg

    Hi

I have to agree that these are one of the most beautiful (and yet when still fitted with the original insert unusable) vintage Omega's you can own....:)

PS. Shouldn't that be a ' count down ' rather than ' count forward ' insert fitted to the OP's Watch....

    Best - Neil
