A friend of mine has a bracelet 1039 stamped 3/68, and he's willing to sell it to me. Could it be compatible with my watch or I should search for one produced earlier?

I got convinced that the watch is from '68 (serial is in range, bezel is period correct) and that in the '70's it got a service (probably due to water inside the watch) where dial, hands and crown were replaced. This should be part of the history of this watch, which remains a fine example of 165.024 after all.

With a little bit of effort, I could find the Omega logo at the center of the glass.

Paired with this 1039/516 stamped 3/68 it looks gorgeous to me (of course, maybe not to everybody).

Certainly a great watch to wear. Glad you are enjoying it.
