This is a rare chance to get a true 1 owner Seamaster Banana 166.068 that was purchased by the original owner in 1971 as high school graduation gift. Case: Good overall condition with strong case lines and bezels, wear as pictured. Owners initials are crudely engraved on case back, and seahorse logo is barely visible. Dial: Excellent original condition wuth small spots in the yellow part of the dial as pictured, only noticeable with 10x loupe. Crystal: Appears to be original mineral glass in very good condition. Crown: Original signed crown. Hands: Excellent original condition with typical dark patina on the lume. Bezel: Excellent original bakelite. Movement: 33,0xx,xxx serial cal.563 from 1971. I know that a majority of examples have the 565, but this watch was purchased in the US, so my assumption is that it had the 563 like some late US model 300 dates did. The movement has been serviced 2-3 times based on the caseback engravings, but the movement is running extremely slow (30m+ a day) and will need a full service as well as new gaskets. Based on the pics, the movement is very clean, and it sets and date advances smoothly, so I would have to imagine that a new mainspring and COA will do the trick. Bracelet: 1170 in very good condition with owner's initial engraved on the clasp. One 631 endlink and one generic endlink that works quite well. Overall, a crisp and clean example. Understanding that it needs a full service and is missing an endlink, I am pricing it at $2400 OBRO Net via Wire or bank deposit, shipped Registered in the CONUS.
