Described as solid 18k yellow gold with champagne dial, it’s currently listed on eBay so it’s a considered purchase, looking for someone who can cast their eye and raise any concerns / red flags in regards to dating, model numbers, maintenance issues, I’m finding it difficult to gauge the value / cost and what would be considered on the higher end of cost.

I’m getting married ‘22 and will be wearing yellow gold band so looking for something to compliment, I’m not interested in profiting from a purchase, looking for something long term and a daily wearer.

Superb solid 18k gold cased vintage Omega Seamaster Calendar automatic gents wristwatch, ref. 166.001, produced in 1965.

A beautiful example, in solid 18k yellow gold with champagne dial.

The case is in lovely condition as can be seen in the images with only very light wear and virtually no marking. The crystal is spotless and the dial is in stunning condition. Signed crown. All in all a superb 1965 18k gold Omega Seamaster.

It’s original Omega cal.562 automatic movement is clean, running well and keeping time.

It is on a new leather strap.

34mm case excluding crown.’

New to the forum so apologies if I’ve missed any etiquette in posting, this would be my first foray into vintage.

It looks like a bad redial to me. Swiss Made font is off, and the OMEGA font is brutal.

First of all: congratulations! 😀

I’d suggest a different watch, though: It’s a pretty crude redial, a polished case and the movement looks like a collection of tired parts, probably put together from a few scrapped ones.

Here are a couple of different case Seamasters from the same era. One is an onyx insert dial but it is a 562 and the other is a 610. 1965 was a bit late for the coathanger S that the Ebay one has.
