My first post to this forum. What do you think about this one? Seems for me clear redial as the Seamaster logo is like in newer ones (check the first letter). But otherwise seems good condition. Got one for sale nearby and is completely serviced couple months back with warranty. Do you think it would make sense to offer 600€ (680 usd) from this one?

Regardless of the consensus of the dial on the forum, I wouldn't trust the seller if he hasn't made it clear whether the thing is a redial or not. That is after all one of the most if not THE most salient detail of a vintage watch.

If a redial, it’s not horribly done. But lack of “swiss” at the bottom and all the lume gone from the indices and hands, and case polished with a heavy hand would be a deal breaker for me..and then you live with the fact that it’s a redial....which I can’t.

for €600 you can do much better with an original piece. Just had a stunner here last week, fully serviced and on bracelet for a few hundred more than that- worth every penny.
Be patient and check the classified’s here daily- they move fast when they are solid examples and priced right.

There is nothing wrong with the SM text, both the coat hanger and that rounded styles are seen on 501 movement 2846s, the rounded is seen earlier ( I would expect a '55-56 watch to be rounded). Another age tell is the jewel count, earlier 501s have 19j, later 20j. It might still be a redial, but the S is not the tell. As above, I would look closely at whether there is hidden Swiss made text or not and at the dial lume which seems to be either missing or messed about. Based solely on that one poor pic, I think it could be original and pretty clean. If the dial checks out then the price isn't too silly.

Coat hanger 2846 (later example):

Rounded S (seen earlier):

Looks nice and original to me. If you can provide some better pics in natural light that would also help.

Looks like the original dial to me. Period perfect lettering on mild aging. Wouldn't be able to see Swiss Made (or otherwise), in the single photo given.
