This was my Fathers watch and it is time to sell it. I took it to a Certified Omega dealer and he gave me the following information.

The watch is all original
Deep Blue
Model 166.073
Movement 565
Serial # 30378090
Bracelet 1170/634
Circa 1970-1974
Working condition

I am trying to determine the value of the watch as when I do research I see numbers anywhere from $3000-$4500 which to me is a big spread. Any help/advice that you can provide is greatly appreciated. I do have pictures if that would help.
Thank you

I am not very good with computers and have always been able to post pictures but this time I finally noticed that my USB driver has changed from (f) to (g). Not sure if that is the problem but I am trying to find out. I will get it fixed one way or another!!

Prices for Chrono 24 from 4000-6000 USD. But I think the real sale price will be lower. Photos want to see

Sell it via auction (eBay) and you will find out the value.

Why don't you want to keep it as a memory

I would but my Dad passed away in 1997 so I kept it per my Mom's wishes but she has since passed away 2 years ago. I have no children and no brothers or sisters so I am the one at the end of the line so there is no one to pass it on to and I am 71 so it is time to move some stuff along even though I wish otherwise.

Just so long as this isn’t a ploy to sell without having 200 posts?

This is not a ploy...I am looking for help. The best I can do for references is to tell you that on Ebay I have over 2000 transactions with 100% positive.

Very sad . I'm sorry to have to remind you of the sad moments. I hadn't thought of that.. I'm still 45 years old.

You can drag the photos to a new post if that is easier. You should see a + symbol which will add the photos here.

These are very nice watches but not at the top of the market and are, usually, 2500-3500 USD but possibly more depending on condition. I hope you manage to sell it easily as we all reach a point where some possessions need to be moved on. I have one of these and they are lovely watches.

Best wishes, Chris

Thanks Chris for the kind words. You are right about possessions, they are only things since the real memory of my Dad is in my mind and heart. Hate to sell the watch but it just sits in a drawer.
On to the pictures, I see the plus but at my age I do not know how to drag the pictures. I have the USB in my computer but when I hit the "add photos" button at the bottom and I go to the USB it says there are no images in the folder. I have a call into someone I know can help as I think the problem is when the f drive switched to g drive for some unknown reason. I will resolve this I promise.
Thanks again,
Chuck

thank you for the photo. A really great watch. What's on your hand? What watch are you wearing now?

Would you believe that I have never owned a piece of jewelry except for my wedding ring.

Yes, you noticed it correctly, now the watch is a decoration, not a device for counting time. I don't take off my watch at all, I even go to sleep in it.

I was able to get some more info and pictures of the movements . I was told that the watch needs some lubrication, the gasket around the inside should be replace and also the gasket between the watch and stem. He termed this some general clean up.
Here are the pics I now have.
Thank you

I believe a "general cleanup" of a movement includes full disassembly, cleaning the parts, checking them for wear, and reassembling (lubing as you go)

General Cleanup were my words not the authorized dealer. The 3 items I mentioned are what I was told so I apologize if I used the wrong terms.
