Is the Omega Seamaster 166.068 "Banana Dial" a must have in anyone's Omega collection?

I have the Poppy dialed version of the 166.068, I will some day have a Banana dialed version as well. I think it's a great looking watch, but it's not for everyone. I personally love the pop of color

In terms of a "Must have" - I can think of at least 6-10 other Omega models that I would place higher on the must have list. But yes I would say it's a must have in any significant Omega Collection

Looks great, especially the matching lume on the dial and hands. But what happened to your original Bezel?

The original bezel is in safe keeping as its in really good condition and I had the NOS black bezel which gives it a slightly different look

That's great, yours is probably the nicest looking example of the Banana I have seen to date (assuming the lume is original).

Here is a pic of my Poppy dialed version

Does anyone know what kind of box omega uses in Seamaster 166.068? I'd like to see the original box.

20150614_143936.jpg here is mine. I bought it from Christos71. I don't wear it as much as I would like because I need a link for it. I managed to find one but it is in the UK and I live in Kuwait. When I go home in August I will attach the link and then I will wear it often. I love this watch and will never part with it. I love the colour on the dial. I am a huge fan of many seamaster watches, I think they are much more interesting than speedmasters.

There's no such thing as a "must have" watch, and even if there was a list of "must have" watches, the Banana Seamaster would be far down it. :(

It is a cool watch though.

The gray dial looks good...I've read it's a service dial....Omega probably wanted to tame down the watch with those when they came in for service. But why "poppy"...is that gray the typical color of poppy buds? Poppy seeds are pretty much black.

Where did you find a bezel for it?
