Hello! trying to get some advice on this piece I just got. What opinions do you guys have on these photos?
Have you read through the very thorough and excellent threads discussing this reference and the myriad ways it's faked? Since I'm feeling generous, start here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-...ers-what-to-look-for-and-what-to-avoid.38032/
So I have read through connieseamaster post, and I'm really new into vintage watches. Why do you guys think is fake? I haven't recieved it yet but I can return it so I'm not worried. Here are more pictures of the watch.
I don't think the bezel is glossy like other fakes, it does have the notch at 3. The pip on the bezel looks like new (which I don't think that's good), I can't really tell if the hands look right. I'm just trying to learn more about this.
The lume color is off, the lume plot on the hour hand is laughably crooked, the printed text is gray rather than white, the bezel is grainy rather than satin, the case back engraving is much too deep and also wrong in the details... Basically, don't EVER trust a SM120 that looks new.
@Andrescantur, if you look on Etsy, you will find the kit used to make this watch. The seller is TICKTOCKPARTS. It's quite obvious. Are you sure that the seller didn't disclose that it was a replica? It's hard to imagine anyone trying to sell this as a legit Seamaster 120.
Good to hear you can return this "watch". Maybe next time this might be different... Most of the time it's helpful to ask questions before purchasing.
Yeah it is totally a fake, thank you guys for your time. I guess just got excited but will be returning it.
