We do take a lot forgranted - people should try learning English as a foreign langauge ;0)

(6) BBC: Smack the Pony-English as a Foreign Langauge - YouTube
That was hysterical for so many reasons! I was once on a team comprised mainly of East Londoners. Our lone French colleague told me in confidence, that I was the only one he understood because I spoke “TV English”. I do think there is a language barrier here.

I’ll post them when I have them, I’m in providence, my dad is in Dallas and the photos we have are on the computer in Mexico, sorry again but translating everything from Spanish to English I may have confused allot of you

Olga,

Gracias

I retired from a global job in a very large food company. This totally hits home.

Ok. That is much better. Whatever happened in the past, forget it. Get your watch back as soon as you can. Don't let these Texans touch the movement. ( Sell Texas back to Mexico....) Judging by the movement screws heads, I'd not expect that the movement service needs parts. So, let the USA members here give you the best local watchmaker for the job. I'd expect the costs for a service only to be around half, what the Cowboys wanted. I'd somewhat expect the whatever " Vice President" come back to your Father and tell him, that After close inspection it can not be repaired ( too old, too worn, too something...) But from the Goodness of his heart he will buy it off him for the absolute maximum of $1900..... Get it back. Quickly.

1) Mexico already tried controlling Texas.

2) There’s an extremely qualified independent watchmaker located in Kerrville, TX (oh the horror!) who specializes in vintage chronographs.

I think "Why not?" is an equally valid question.

We'll never make 300 years.

If it makes you feel any better Texans, you should see people's faces when you tell them you're from Oregon.

To get by in London you need to be a maximiser at cherry picking a diverse range of low hanging fruits and have a BS in Corporate BSE….

Me too. OP's english seems to be poor on purpose.
As I’m catchiing up with this thread I’m also suprised OP’s English is full of grammatical mistakes and sounds like a foreigner writing, but the quoted summary supplied by her or his father is written in perfect English.

Somehow this sounds like a set up for some sort of a ploy— maybe to try and get offers on the watch ? Or something else?

Let me look, and ask him

events:
Back in 2021 I was given a certain quotation for the service to be performed on my watch at Omega's Headquarters in Switzerland, which I approved. After some months went by and not hearing back from Omega, I reached out and found out the watch was already back in Dallas because the quotation given to me was off by $40 - which I was not informed of until l reached out to the dealership-, and it turned out my watch was held there for a couple of months without me being given notice. I approved the new budget and the watch was sent back to Omega's HQ. After some time, I was informed that they could not restore the watch's machinery (not repair as the watch was fully functional) and that the good news was that because of its uniqueness, the watch's worth had risen. At this point the watch was supposedly working fine.
I went to the Dallas dealership to pick up my watch only to find out that my watch, that had been working perfectly for the past 70 years, was now not functional after it was handled by Omega's experts.
