Omega ref 79470 cal 268 winding question

I received a vintage Omega watch ref 79470 cal 268 that holds time exceptionally well. Movement is in pristine condition. The concern I have is with the manual wind. With the crown properly seated, I try to wind it in the clockwise direction, and it is very difficult to turn. If I turn the crown in the CCW direction, it spins smoothly. I do not want to force the winding to prevent any damage. Can you share any insights. Thank you in advance.

When you turn the crown clockwise, you supply energy to the watch; when you turn the crown counter clockwise, nothing happens. So of course, turning clockwise is harder than the other direction. But if it too hard to turn then some gear may need to be checked or replaced

If you can't wind the watch, you probably should take it to a watchmaker, under the assumption that a movement service will be needed.
