·I need to move some watches as I have been on a bit of a buying spree lately. So, I’m putting up for sale the ref. 2990-1 "Transformed Ranchero" that I purchased here on OF about 18 months ago. It is originally from Sweden, where in the late 1950s it appears that the Omega importer changed the dials and hands on Rancheros in order to make them more marketable.

Here is a discussion of the “Transformed Ranchero”:

The watch head is in the same condition as when I purchased it, except that I had Kelly Hunter (artofthewatch.com) give it a full service. I’ve only worn it 3 or 4 times since I got it.
I put the watch on a new Hirsch strap with an Omega style buckle. I make no representations as to the originality of the Omega buckle, as years ago I purchased a few of these from an Asian seller on eBay before I knew better.
The 2990-1 case has a nice wrist presence because of the size at 36mm, the straight lugs and the thin bezel.
One thing to point out: the crystal does not seem to have the Omega logo. I think the crystal was replaced by the previous owner and not by my watchmaker, but my memory is not completely reliable on that point. (I also don’t know if Omega crystals had the logo in 1958 when this watch was made.)
ONE AND ONLY REDUCTION TO $995, which is less than I have in it. Price includes CONUS shipping. Other destinations at cost. Payment by wire or PP with no fees to me.
I'm happy to answer questions or provide additional photos if required. Thanks for looking.
