Found this bizarre looking thing on eBay. Constellation arrowheads, bizarre minute track, sunburst dial, no date, satin brushed case, etc. nothing like a 2849. looks almost fake. Service dial? Rare configuration? What do we think? I’ve not seen anything like it….

There aren’t two like it for sure…

Several watches into one, and a redial. 2849 should be cal. 503 with date, the main case is from another ref, the crown hasn’t got the period correct logo. The dial is refinished etc.

I agree with @theluckyluke.

In addition to what was mentioned above regarding the calendar, the dial is rather troubled and has clearly been tampered with - look at how the minute track differs in how it intersects with the applied arrowhead markers and how the 6 o'clock marker does not properly line up with 'Swiss'

some 2849s do have 'swiss' only on the dial, its a sign its a US built watch IIRC. otherwise, I agree.
