This is such a coincidence. I was cleaning out some items in the basement just today and I found my red box that I have not seen for nearly a decade.

I have 2 very different watches that use that case. One is a speedy date, the other a planet ocean chrono.

Its a common box used for many watches for many years.

Every time I see one of these that hasn’t either disintegrated or stained the shelf it’s sitting on red I assume it’s a replica or something.

Omegas new boxes really are a big step up from these things

Maybe keep it in the kitchen freezer they may last a lot longer::facepalm2::.
But indeed, every time I see one for sale in perfect condition my first thought is 'replica' as they are made of al longer lasting vinyl.
Btw, the TagHeuer boxes aren't much better.

Mine is in pristine condition. Haven't touched in 10 years, but it still looks new. I kept it inside a sealed plastic crate along with some other stuff. I have it out now, maybe I should out it in the freezer :p

I think moisture does them in, so maybe dessicant, then crate, then freezer.

The red box introduced around ~2002 seems to last ok but the previous smaller red box in use from 1995-2002 falls apart as soon as you look at it. The one the OP shows is the more reliable, larger, later box. The earlier red box didn't have the instructions book so came in a smaller white card outer box. Not all red boxes are equal, the 90s one is terrible, the 2000s one is not so bad.

The red box that came with the DeVille Hour Vision I purchased new in 2012 looks great. I just pulled it out for the first time in years after reading the comments above. It has, however, for the most been inside the Omega white cardboard box, that is inside a duffle bag full of watch boxes since 2012.
