This just ended for $1,200. I don’t think I would have gone that high had I been bidding but advice I recieved was to avoid this one due to the dial being fake.

I’m looking to be educated a little more on what I should have noticed and didn’t or did someone get a good deal on a beat up but nice Ranchero?

This had an omega buckle but the seller said the original strap was falling apart so he put it on another one.

Mine isn't the best example of a correct Ranchero - having been relumed - but take a close look at the text on the dial, it is quite different to the one you've shared.

Look at the text, particularly the letters in Omega.

This dial features the white dial version of the indexes with partial lume. The text is way too thick, too white and inaccurate.

For comparison, here is a photo of my 1958 Ranchero which is correct for the reference. There are no “bargain” authentic Rancheros. Expect to pay at least $4,500 to $7,500 or more for a good example.

Anyone think this dial looks off? I haven’t seen many with a with bold omega ‘Ω’ such as this one. The numerals look irregular too.

Dial and hands are fake
+1. Hands are also too short, wrong crown and the case is overpolished.
