I hope the forum can help on this query.

When watches are sent to Omega, do they service the watch with period correct replacement dial?

I have an Omega Railmaster ref 2914-2 whose dial is refinished. If I send it to Omega, will they be able to give original replacement dial? Would they even have 1958 stock?

What sources I should try, other than ebay ofcourse?

Would greatly appreciate any help.

Omegas vintage stock dried up long ago / is not accessible to normal folks. No chance

Scour the corners of the Internet for the next couple of years hoping an original dial shows up for sale, or a Railmaster with a good dial but trashed case that has a low asking price. Good luck with either of these options, though.

Or, but a Railmaster that has an original dial and sell this one.

Live with it.

Finding incredibly rare vintage parts takes patience, luck and money.

Good luck.

Generally, this is why people on here advise to avoid redials like the plague...

Genuine NOS dials for general models are rare. Dials for desireable models like this are essentially nonexistant.

Omega will add an additional nettlesome step if you call asking for a replacement dial: they will not confirm over the phone the availability of the part. Want you to deliver the watch to a boutique, which will send it to the mothership, and only then will they let you know if the part is available. I am trying at the moment to solve the same problem with another model, and it is chore.

Sad, but true! I'm sure there's a good reason for the rule, but for those of us like me, who post copiously elsewhere but occasionally shop here and stop by for specialized information, it's a tough rule. I'm at something like 10 posts, all today and all related to this sort of problem.

What watch are you looking for a dial for? Let me know and I'll check if they have dials or not.

One of the members here gave me his spare dial, in good condition- forum can be a judge- just like that! I mean he didnt even charge me for shipment!.
