Thought some people here might be interested in this - one of the Omega R17.8 manual wind chronometers from the early 1940s.

I've had my eyes out for one of these for a while now, since first seeing them on Francos' excellent introduction to the Omega 30mm chronometers on SqueletteWatches.com and was lucky enough to find one via the-saleroom.

Dial is nicely aged, case in good order and i've serviced the movement, so performance is good now (needed a new balance staff and end shake on the balance adjusting). Was thinking of ordering an extract for it when Omega start doing them again.

I've just been able to add a nos 5/8" strap to it courtesy of wwhntr on the sales page, just not sure if I can bear to crease the lovely strap (also at 31mm diameter it's pretty small on the wrist!)

anyone else got one they'd like to share?
