If you don't mind throwing more good money after bad, there is one on Ebay ending in 12h that might work as a donor ( https://www.ebay.at/itm/397837208261 , from Down Under) .
That's my main predicament now. I saw that auction as I'm in Aus. However, I thought that if I was to spend money like that, it'd be on a NOS 1616 movement. The NOS movement on ebay has a different looking quartz though which I'm confused about.

The donor, as you imply, could otherwise be just as broken. I've read a few posts before writing this one and it seems half of the 1616/20 owners decided to leave dead batteries in.

@sheepdoll my daily watch is a 1337! That thankfully just required a new battery. If I ever get a Seiko T001 though, be prepared for me to reach out for assistance haha.
