This watch belonged to my father. I’ve had it since he passed away a few years ago. I have the original receipt. Purchased in Cairns Queensland Dec 1953. For 29 and a bit pounds. The original cylindical box has “Seamaster” printed on it. There are a few scratches on the glass. The crown is difficult to pull out to adjust time. But seems to run OK. Just wondering if anyone knows much about this model ? Joe

All I know is that this was not purchased in 1953, it is much newer. Can you share photos of the box/papers?

Yes they are at home. I'm very unsure of the history of this watch. There is also a receipt for maybe a repair/service from 1974 from Italy ? I'll get photos for you later today. Thanks in advance. Joe

Looks to be a ref 135.015 assuming there isn't a bezel missing, and called the "Admiralty"by collectors. I agree that it would be a later production, 1960's I believe, so maybe your father owned another earlier Omega that's the one on the receipt? Your paperwork should shed some light.
Crown seems a little off for this model, does it have the Omega emblem on it? If not perhaps switched out during the 1974 service.

Looks like an Omega Genève Admiralty, I think they were made from the late 60s on.

It’s also possible your father had a seamster and traded it in for this (or possibly lost it)- he wouldn’t have necessarily brought the box in when/if he traded it.
Admiralty is a nice watch, worth getting serviced.
