·mbp, compare how duc wears the watch vs your placement between wrist and hand:
You (mbp) are wearing the watch on the wrong side of your wrist bones (wrong if you value wrist mobility; of course anybody is free to wear their watch any way they want). I didn't get your 'I'm left handed' comment at all, until I realized that the way your are wearing your watch is immobilizing your wrist. I (left handed as well) actually like to have use of both of my hands. With your watch placement your watch hand is pretty much frozen at the wrist, with very little mobility left.
Regarding Duc's question on the need for the extension: of course it depends on your wrist/forearm size. On many days I can get away with wearing either my coaxial Speedmaster or my Portugieser on the Omega shark mesh without extension, in the longest clasp setting. Adding the extension and switching to the second shortest clasp hole adjustment makes both watches work at any temperature, activity level and clothing choice, even under a zipped up motorcycle jacket sleeve.
