Hi all, I've been contemplating about getting a GMT watch for awhile now, and am tempted to get the 43.5mm PO GMT...i think this has been discontinued after this year's new releases, and i'm not sure if it is a smart buy.

The new GMT releases don't excite me - the ceramic deep black is too expensive, and the 'normal' version with the black and white bezel looks somehow toyish.

That brings me to the PO GMT, specifically the one with the black bezel . Ref: 232.30.44.22.01.001

What are your thoughts? I found a nice deal for about 28% of retail, with full 4 year warranty...

    Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a good deal an I think it looks great. Granted I'm new to this but I still think it's a handsome watch

Sounds like a decent deal are they an authorized dealer?

Have you ever worn one? I love that case size but was surprised at how thick it felt (and was)

Take a look at the Seamaster Pro GMT 50th Anniversary model. Although not made anymore, they still pop up on the secondary market. There are a couple out there right now in the 1500-1700 range. They wear great and have that classic Seamaster diver look.

[IMG] There is the PO GMT Good Planet as well. I believe it is 43.5 mm too.

Yeah I tried it on 2 years ago, and was similarly surprised. I liked the watch but couldn't afford it then :D

Here's a photo of it from 2 yrs ago...

It won't be from an AD but it will come with an AD stamped warranty card...

I really like the good planet version as well but am leaning on the black because it would be more versatile...both are great looking watches!

    Thanks for all the replies!

Was reading up more about the difference between this version and the new ones. Aesthetics aside, is the main difference just the magnetic resistance and accuracy from its new master chronometer movement? Will that be a significance difference such that I should not purchase the older version?

I'd go the Goodplanet. Love the colours. But I'm biased![IMG]

Some of the older ones are thinner and use a different movement.

One of my favorites, the 43.5 is a perfect size for me. I have the blue Good Planet. Always has been very accurate and I change the the bracelet out with the rubber or Cordura straps periodically.

I still don't know how to swap the straps. My AD does it for free, but its nit convenient..

It is really easy once you have done it. But you need the right tool. The Bergeon spring bar tool works very well.

Do it in a plastic bag the first few times also... It will save your eyes, and your mind when you have to find that springbar that jumped across the room.

Excellent point, those spring bars can go ballistic. Never thought of a plastic bag, good idea.

That's very cool advice. is there a specific Bergeon Spring Bar tool that would be most suitable?
