hi folks,

thinking about bidding this ebay # 193839716344 item number,
14381/2 SC4Omega Constellation Pie Pan 18k Black dial, but I am not sure if this dial is refinished, I contacted the seller and he told me that it's totally original and that it was bought from Gavina, a brazilian Omega collector.
I would like to hear some opinions and specially how much it worths. Happy 2021 for all.

Hi, I'm not one of the experts here, but know you'd get way more feedback if you uploaded pictures rather than just mentioning the auction number or the link. Pictures stay, links disappear. It's also for educational purposes so other members such as myself can benefit.

Considering bidding >$2k for a seller with zero feedback?

Rather you than me

I think the seller has 0 feedback from the last 12 month but a total of >500, including watch sales, apparently. Accepts PayPal, too so I don’t see any red flags here regarding the seller, besides the usual mint-and-serviced-claims, the latter of which would need to be proved.

I asked him about it and he told me that due to the pandemic he stopped selling at ebay and only returned now.

I didn’t notice the location, thank you - although that’s not completely illogical. But I’m not affiliated with the seller in any way and I’ve never bought of him - just wanted to clarify that it’s not simply a fresh 0-feedback account. There’s currently a Speedy on offer which’ll end soon from a guy with a new account, actual 0 feedback, accepting money transfer only. That, to me, is a different kind of dodgy.

It could all be absolutely legit and explained away. But just pointing out red/orange flags which need further investigation.
It would definitely make me wary but sometimes its risk reward. I have occasionally done my homework and then purchased from low feedback sellers or locations with bad reputations. The result is I have benefitted greatly from the fact that others have stayed away. But then i have also been burnt too

I'm not an expert, but I haven't seen the original black dial in this reference 14381/2
