Just wanted to share some pictures of this recently purchased 2782. Over the years I have seen a couple of these double signed Constellation/Seamasters, I believe all with 354s. I remember bidding on one years ago but I ended up losing. The ones I have seen have been mainly in Asia, but this one was bought from France. Under a loupe, the fonts are very fine and have the same quality as other Omegas I have owned. However, I cannot find a similar Constellation font except on other double signed Constellation-Seamasters. The next closest Constellation font I found is from a 2887. This one appears to be an old dial as well and not a new creation. The above leads me to believe it's original, but any thoughts on why there would be two completely different models on the same dial? Also open to any other opinions or discussion! Yes, the crown is wrong... Another example from Instagram (I believe this watch was posted on OF before)
That Omega logo on your example looks a bit odd, doesn't it? It's certainly different from the other one you show and it is a bit different from the pre-1954 ones I've seen before, I believe.
This one I would call a pre-1953 logo (even though that is probably a bad name for it...), but when I look at yours, it is somewhat different. The "feet" of the Omega looks more rounded.
A flat-topped coathanger "S"? Double categories? Very weird, but a redialer with this skill wouldn't chart new territory. I'm guessing a factory craftsman that had a few drams at lunch and probably got in serious trouble. A factory error that got by QC. Dibs, but I wouldn't sell this one for a bit until we know more. Perhaps the Ukrainian Michaelangelo? Good to talk, Kyle!
Does that third picture show AUTOMATIC going a little downhill? Doesn't seem to track straight. Could be wonky compression/expansion artifacts.
OMEGA maybe is downhill too? Crosshair at 6 off? Kyle, you have seen more than all of us, what do you think?
That's a good point, I didn't see that until you guys pointed it out! The horizontal crosshair does look a bit slanted....
It seems that both the vertical and horizontal crosshairs are off by the same angle, and only in respect to the texture of the dial. The star looks a little off too, not exactly wonky, but shifted right of the vertical cross hair too.
Found this on Chrono24. Dial configuration looks like one on instagram that Kyle posted, but someone failed at cleaning the dial. https://chrono24.app/omega/omega-co...5sc--id21218667.htm?SETLANG=hr_HR&SETCURR=HRK
Yep, it’s also on a local German platform and hasn’t sold for quite a while. This used to be a very special watch.
Both the Chrono24 example (what’s up with that bezel?) and the one from the old OF post have serial numbers starting with 1400. Yours? Might be worth the cost of getting an Extract on this one, Kyle. gatorcpa
