Hi

Whilst i wait for my Snoopy to arrive! I was looking at getting the No Time To Die Seamaster watch. The only thing that’s putting off from purchasing the watch, is the hefty price tag here in the UK 🙁

I was wondering if it would be possible to get a decent discount on this watch from an OB or AD?

I know this watch is now very readily available here in the UK. Plus i’ve seen them listed at attractive prices on Chrono24, but nearly all those are outside UK.

Please let me know, if any of you were able to get a decent discount on this watch 😁

A year ago an AD wanted to give me 10% but that was in Spain. Apparently boutiques don't give discounts but might give you some extra goodies like nato straps for free instead.

Thanks for the advice! If the UK was still part of the EU, then I would have absolutely no problem purchasing the watch from the EU! Since Brexit, any purchases over £135 gets taxed with 20% vat and customs duty. So only looking to purchase from the UK only!

I think it’s just a matter of waiting, until a good deal comes along. I’ll try asking my nearest OB and a few nearby AD’s as well!

Wishing you the best of luck! For the AD route, I'd suggest throwing geographic proximity out the window. It'll take some time, but might as well as call up every AD in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland? I'm sure you'll find 1 willing to discount, and ship directly to your door if you don't fancy a day trip.

Not sure if this is a global policy, but when I purchased my 43.5 Planet Ocean at an OB back in December, the sales associate told me the US Omega Boutique network will cease all discounts effective January 1 2021. As dstfno mentioned, they might be able get you some goodies like spare NATO straps, leather watch boxes, etc. But if percentage discount is the goal, I'd definitely stick with AD's.

I’m in the UK too and have noticed a difference in discounts available. I used to see 10-15%. Now less than 10%, my local AD said that omega had restricted the discount available. But, a deployant strap and clasp could also be included in the deal.
As mentioned, phone around and see what you can get. A deal will come if you are willing to wait and especially if you don’t mind purchasing from a non AD . . Or a price hike / currency conversion adjustment might scupper it!!

Issue with shopping around, which I have done recently for a watch - they all say over the phone we can only offer a token gesture, but willing to talk discounts if one goes to the store - which is fine, but if we are throwing geographically local shopping out the window to find the best price you could be driving up and down the country to see these AD's in person only to be told their discount is less than you have been offered elsewhere...etc...

I think it’s probably best just to wait and see if i can find one for sale on Chrono24, eBay or here in the sales section. I’m in no hurry 😀

Thanks for all the advice! Much appreciated!

I know its a waiting game and the itch needs scratching - but it is worth waiting for the sales that the AD's and OB's put on - last July i picked up a Gold/Steel Seamaster 300MC from an OB on sale for almost a total of 50% off (a combination of two offers) - it retails at over £10K and I paid £5500 for it, new from OB in the UK and collected in person.

I am waiting for a similar event - aiming to pick up a couple of watches - but waiting on these sales is excruciating.

Montblanc I recently purchased an omega from ernest jones, they have discretion to give up to 20% on any Omega except anything moon watch related.

Wow! That is a fantastic deal! The waiting is excruciating, but will be worth it. I know from past the experience, that deals will come along 😀

Oh! Really? Didn’t know that! That would make the price of the watch on par with offerings on the grey market! I’ll ask my local Ernest Jones 😀

Would you happen to know if the Omega Boutiques owned by Beaverbrooks, are able to give a similar type of discount?

No idea about beavers I’m afraid.

I’ve just purchased an AT via ChronoHunter who act as a broker for ADs. I used a grey market price as a negotiating point and got a really good deal.

I also got my PO GMT on a 25% off sale at Terrence Lett in February. That was a stock clearance price but they are really responsive and worth a call. They’re Oxford based but did Special Delivery to London for free.
