Given that the new James Bond actor has not been found, and the new movie has not been written, let alone filmed, I'd say the NTTD watch is going to be in production for a while.

I think we'll see a new Bond film around 2024.

My OB told me today that the watches are currently under production at Omega. They could not take a reservation for the time being (until sure that they will be allocated any), but assured me that they would call me once they received some.

Ps. the Omega online shop shows availability on the model (but it seems Omega keeps away from OBs some stock for their direct sales)

Where are you located? We're able to put in a deposit and get one in three weeks.

I wonder what's gonna happen if the next Bond will turn up to be a female - a smaller case size Bond watch will surface then?

I don't think that will happen.

It will not be discontinued that soon but in principle it should be discontinued ahead of the new movie to give place to the new Bond watch. If you want one now, I believe that you should easily get one from Omega in Switzerland, Germany, France, etc…

My OB said something similar a few weeks ago. They believe the watch is slowly being phased out and may stop production when the 60th Anniversary Bond watch is released later this year.

I don't know whether to believe them or not, since it's been stated before that this watch should be in production until the next Bond movie. But who knows, since NTTD was delayed a lot and the next movie seems pretty far out, perhaps Omega might be changing their plan.

I think it would be a misstake to discontinue it so early. I have both the regular smp and the nttd. The nttd feels much more refined, it is thinner and a feels more like the original Seamaster on the wrist. Of course with the price you should expect all of these things. Maybe the next Seamaster update will look like this but in steel and with more ceramic?

I did too, but “First MoonSwatch on the Moon” sounds terrible…

One thing I've learnt in my life is take anything you hear from the staff at a boutique with a pinch of salt. Don't believe everything they say. After all they are sales people and they want to sell the watches which is basically their job. When they say things like "it's gonna be discontinued soon", it would make the customer be more enticed to buy it. All psychological I guess lol.

True. But I was told this after I already purchased my watch.
