When you say the floating keeper, do you mean the one with the Omega logo (3) and part number on the rear?

If so yes I agree, bloody awful. This is the only one with the extra cross-bar in the middle...which it doesn’t really need.

The Zulu-style used on the Trilogy watches doesn’t have that problem.

When you read all the posts about sharp-edged bracelets, missing half links, clasps without micro-adjust and this here with the NATOs I sometimes wonder if Omega has a department for discomfort. It must be quite big because they sure are experts in the field.
This is exactly what I mean. I’m wearing it now and can’t cinch it up to where I’d like to because it leaves an indention and cuts into my skin.

On items included with the straps. In Europe I have to select a spring bar tool separately. I might be different for other continents
the tool seems cheap @ €10 compared to the strap itself..

Omega makes the best NATOs in the game. I find phenomenato to get close but not quite. Can anyone recommend any other really high quality brands that have that slick seatbelt feel like Omega?

I have the same problem. I had to cut it off the previous Omega nato and put in one from another strap that just went in the holes and not against my wrist. No other NATO strap I've seen has a metal keeper against your wrist, a square flat keeper at that.

I mentioned to staff in the Omega boutique in London and they said no-one had ever complained before. Thought I was the only one. I bought this one that has no metal keepers instead. Pretty comfortable.

I would strongly recommend MORA straps. While I don’t own an Omega, I had the opportunity to handle the Omega NATO & MORA side by side and I felt the MORA was slightly nicer. The Omega isn’t really a true NATO since it uses a spring bar in the buckle and I dislike the the metal keeper rubbing against my wrist like many other members have noted.

The MORA material is thinner, softer yet somehow felt more durable - a little hard to explain but it just wears better. Their buckle and hardware are also much more solid. All around a better strap.

I’m new to the watch hobby but the bug has definitely bit me. Here are a couple photos I snagged off of their Instagram page and also one that I took on my Seiko turtle.

OP HERE.

So I broke down and bought a NATO strap from Omega. The quality is fantastic I do wish that they made a 21 mm watch from my planet ocean I can tell that the strap is slightly too big but it is a nice look.
one- thing I'll have to say is I have to reach out to Omega because they gave me two extra spring bars both are longer than the original spring bars and both are different sizes as in for example they gave me one spring bar that's 24 mm and one spring bar that's 22 mm

Also guys because the strap end doesn't necessarily have a long enough length to fit back through the keepers I leave mine out as in the photo but it kind of flaps around so I actually made a small modification by taking a piece of white thread I made a extra loop that holds the strap and down and I think it looks fantastic.

I’m thinking of investing in this Omega Olympic stripe NATO ahead of Tokyo... anybody else own it and willing to post photos?

Investing??? Just buy if you like it and enjoy wearing it. Why does it have to be some form of investment...... Good grief.

I think our friend @madjestikmoose was just using a turn of phrase. No need to lambast a fellow member for word choice. Seems you might be suffering from an underlying frustration stemming from watch flippers. Get in line 🙁

I never thought I would have a modern RM in my sights, but I saw one the other day on this NATO and fell in love. The blue dial and Art Deco numbers combined with this NATO are super cool. Don’t really like the watch on steel, so I’d probably buy it with the “jean nato strap” (which I don’t like) to save a few bucks and just keep the beige NATO on full time.

I'm really coming round to that RM. It's a beautiful case, and doesn't look so jeansy in the metal. Very tempted.

On a a more on-topic note, just picked up the black/red NATO for my Speedy and Seamaster. Ordered from AD. No fun case or tools for us Canadians.

Is that the general consensus, or are they hit or miss for people? That one keeper (#3 in the photo) looks like it would be so uncomfortable. I've checked the straps out in person at an OB, and they seem pretty amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't have a watch with me that I could use to try one on.

I've noticed that keeper has been changed in some of the newer designs, but I haven't seen any of the older designs with the updated version of that keeper.

Just curious to what extent that keeper is uncomfortable. Some of the original strap designs are awesome, so just trying to get an idea of whether they'd be worth the cost.
