Yesterday I had my request for an extract cancelled with the general reason of missing, incomplete or unreadable records.

I know we have some true experts on the forum but I wondered if we have anyone who reads the fora and works at Omega here? I'd just like to take up a few minutes of your time to see if even partial records exist. Unfortunately the email address is a "noreply" one and I can't see a straightforward way to get in touch with the right person.

Edit: I should add, feel free to DM me rather than post in the thread.

I had a similar experience and it's probably not all that uncommon. In my case, I was kind of expecting trouble because I knew the watch's movement (Cal.520) came from a factory that Omega bought from a competitor in 1955 and then closed in 1957. The factory records (if there ever were any) probably never made it into the Omega archive.

I feel your pain. This one's earlier still - 1938.

I've seen so many wonderful things done for collectors (not just by Omega but particularly Longines) that I wondered if partial information could be supplied when there wasn't sufficient for a full EOA.

Same for this one, no records at Omega. Movement number is ~1987 according to ilovemyspeedmaster.

Had the same for my 33.3. Remarkably enough all auction houses manage to score extracts for 33.3's

Just curious - had you tried submitting only the movement number without the reference number?

    I might try that.

On another note, I also submitted for an extract on my Mark II racing, which I Love My Speedmaster predicted to be December 1969. Sure enough extract states Dec 12, 1969. :)

That would be wonderful. Are they used to taking calls from the public or is an introduction required?

No introduction necessary…they seem to appreciate that anyone who actually calls them,…is usually a passionate collector

Simply Skype them…ask the switchboard ( who answer in German, but immediately switch to English ), to put you through…and initiate the conversation

Let us know how you get on ?

Thanks for that. I won't be free to make a call in office hours until at least Thursday but I'll let you know.

This is not only the standard answer if records are missing but also if something doesn't match. To avoid unnecessary and endless discussions with excited (new) owners, this generic and polite phrase will be used. Fully understandable of course.

‘Entre nous’…I think, they rather like the interruption, to what must be a fairly monotonous, working day

They are also able to call up archival information, pretty instantly on screen…and can describe what is seen / available

When I talked to the Archivist, he was very chatty, & amongst other things, was happy to confirm Michael Collins’s 145.012 actually manufacturing date, of 30th October 1968…Exactly one day, & 59 numbers, before mine

I did get 4 of them Today, and really not for any really rare Watches, mainly late 1940´s and early 1950´s Watches of Jumbo type
