How many 2777 sub references are there?
2777, 2777-1, 2777-2, 2777-4 I've now heard of.

Any others?
there is also a 2777-3

Any of them for sale? 😀

The second watch has had its case refinished and the movement's finish stripped with a previous service. Looks like that watch was sent to Bienne for restoration as the look is typical of watches these watches sent there for service many years ago (they have run out of these newer dials a long time back).

Hi Guys, was wondering about this watch currently listed on ebay.

Seems that the dial is repainted, but other than that in my view it looks good.

However I am no vintage expert and cant tell if all parts photographed seem legit. Since I do not live in the UK I cant really see it before a bid either. Any thoughts on condition / authenticity / value?

in the moment there are 2 examples on the bay. clearly repainted dial is here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1950s-OMEGA-Military-RAF-Fat-Arrow-Mens-Vintage-Wrist-Watch-6B-542-3416-53/273032565573?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=2&asc=20140106155344&meid=8aa53caaf5ae4c98a6550bc1250dc21d&pid=100005&rk=5&rkt=6&sd=162883931920&itm=273032565573&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851.
the second one should be the 1990`s Omega Factory replacement dial. it is here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162883931920?ul_noapp=true...........the Brass "Do Hickey" spring for the inner back cover is replaced, the inner back cover does not look original and the moisture absorbent Paper inside is one of the copies made by ZAF. all ok, but should be mentioned.
so, if you are on the hunt for an original Thin Arrow, compare. kind regards. achim

Hi there
I am looking for a slug retainer ring and the moisture absorbent paper you talk about for my omega 53, any change you could send me some links to where I could get these from

Also any advice where I could sent this in the UK for a service (and a WW1 omega trench watch)

I agree entirely. In each case, caveat emptor (let the buyer beware).

In the first watch, in SMALL PRINT is the note:
Seller Notes: “Old used watch, dial repainted”
But this is followed with:
1) The Original dial shows age
The dial is no more original than a repainted dial can be!
And looking at the amount of rust and damage in the last four of the images says a lot.
Even the seller’s name implies that the watch is ‘genuine’ and ‘authentic’ - sadly it is not so.

In the second watch, the seller claims that the watch is ‘ALL ORIGINAL’. As you say Achim, the "Do Hickey" is available (from Antoine) and the moisture absorbent paper disc from Zaf.

I have nothing against a restored watch (just like many beautifully-restored classic cars) - but to claim that it is ‘original’ is another matter.

Here are examples of Zaf’s discs: nice to have for a ‘restoration’:
Can I ask where you get these paper discs from?

The reference for a '53 is 2777-1, I believe the crown on yours is wrong, there should also be a soft iron inner case back to improve protection against magnetism.
I don't know enough about the movement numbers assigned to these watches but yours seems to be from around 1947 which could be correct but a 4/5 year wait for a case seems a long time. The second, minute and hour hands look wrong to me as well. The best place to get a definitive answer to your question in MWR forum, they are the experts on military stuff.

Pictures and details as requested. I have taken some pictures of the movement and inside case back plus front on looking at the dial. The movement is cal 283 serial 11822355. Case ref 2536-10. The case has fixed bars.
Cheers Russell.

Is the dial the thick one like in the usual '53s?

The dial is 29.6mm in diameter and .5mm thick.
Picture looking side on and dial up.
Cheers Russell.

This is a picture of my Omega 6b/542 dial showing the thickness for comparison.
Cheers Russell.
