Prototype does mean it probably never had a box and papers and the day-date may not have been even implemented yet if its an early prototype though.

When I looked at the thread title, I misread it as "Omega Masonic Series" and got a bit excited.

No disrespect to your lovely watch, but that would be a whole other discussion!

I have nothing useful to add. I'll get me coat.

Priceless...as in there being no market for it. Now you may chance upon a collector who might want to add it to his pile but...any pics to share?

Too bad the OP never bothered to say if he'd contacted the museum or heard back from them.

I do not have an email address from the Omega museum. Otherwise I would have send them some pictures and asked for a statement.

Why do you think, that the day-date is not working? I have mentioned that I have one completely working and one none working "Series 0" watch.

I did not plan to sell one, but if you are interested, feel free to make an offer via PM or email. Thanks.

As I have told above, I have two of them. One is fully working, the other is only intermittently running and then stopping. Most likely a problem with the micro motor or, in the best case, just a dirty movement.

Omega Museum just replied. They say, they cannot help, because these are prototypes. Sorry.

Hello.
My name is Daniel I'm from Germany and mainly collecting automatic vintage watches from all kind of makers. A smaller area of interest are old electric wristwatches. This is the point where I want to start here. I already showed the following watch at "uhrforum.de". The opinions go from "Frankenwatch" to "Prototype". It is a vintage electronic watch, most likely from the 70s, that looks like this:

I would appreciate every hint regarding the market and/or the purpose the watch was made for. What I already know is:
-it looks very similar to an Omega 1230 movement
-the electronic unit looks different (discrete electronic parts instead of a integrated circuit, PCB in front of the coil, not behind)
-there is no Omega reference number stamped into the case back
-there is no Omega tag and no space for such a tag on the movement bridge
-there is no Omega collection name (e.g. 720, Megasonic, Constellation) on the dial

Regards,
Daniel
Hello Daniel, I was starting to wonder about my Megasonic as it too did not have any markings on the movement aside from 0003718, I did hear that only 10000 where made to test the market for battery operated omega, but I am not too sure how true this is.
