Just got my hands of one of these, looking for one for many years as it is one of my fav watches, I was a little fast at the the auction, and did not actually see the non-working notice. Got it at pretty low price, so I was not worried at first, but now I understand that Omega has stopped servicing these and I contacted STS in uk, have not got any reply yet, because of vacation, but from the person running Omega passion (very nice person, and resource) said that the guy who was an expert on these did recently retire from STS.

Is there any chance for me to get someone looking at this and servicing it, anyone know parts resources or people that could look at this watch. Could be also a minor thing with it, I would believe there quartz part would be pretty robust except for water damage etc.?

Hi,

I also had recently considered purchasing one. But stepped back after I learned that there is absolutely no chance to get it repaired, if e.g. the motor is damaged. While a watch may be working today, this can discontinue tomorow. And then the money is burned, completely .... 馃檨.

They are actually nice, and the technology therein differs considerably from what one thinks of when saying "quartz".

Best, Bernhard

P.S.: eBay auction? If the seller is a professional seller, you can still return the watch within 14 days of reception. Without any ground. That is granted by law in the EU. If he is a private seller, your bad .... I do not know the respective legislation in the UK, though.

Reach out to Stuart, the author of this blog https://www.omegamegaquartz.com/

@Tom Dick also knows these well 馃槈

STS servicing on these can be hugely expensive, so make sure you're sitting down.

There's been a recent thread here where it was explained that STS no longer service them so that door is closed.
The first step would be finding someone who can assess what's wrong with the watch, circuit, motor, something else. Maybe Simon who used to work at STS and started his own business a few years ago could help?

Thanks for all the replies, I researched it and I could not take the chance on get this example repaired at this point so I returned it to the seller. Should maybe had it into a evalutation of someone that could diagnose where the problem was first, but there was a time limit. Hope Omega relaunches this model
